Tracking tool records drop in overdose deaths in Berkeley County

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The number of opioid overdoses and overdose deaths in Berkeley County appears to have dropped significantly in the first six months of 2018 compared to the same period last year, according to unofficial data.

Through June of this year, there were 17 overdose deaths reported to ODMAP, a mobile tool that compiles suspected overdose incident information, Berkeley County Recovery Services Coordinator Kevin Knowles told the Berkeley County Council on Thursday.
