Heroin Crackdown Nabs 59 People in Massapequa

Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said the arrests were part of a hot-spot crackdown based on the department’s new anti-opioids mapping, which gives police real-time intelligence on overdoses across the county.

Fifty-nine people were arrested on heroin charges, including four alleged dealers, over the past week in Massapequa, part of a crackdown in the community especially hard-hit by the deadly opioid epidemic, Nassau County police said Thursday.
