The purpose of the 2023 Youth Substance Use Prevention Institute was to support public safety, public health, and prevention professionals in working together to achieve effective prevention.
Goals:
- Understand the fundamentals of effective substance use prevention.
- Introduce effective prevention interventions for youth.
- Examine opportunities for prevention in school and community settings.
- Prepare participants to develop a comprehensive substance use prevention strategy that leverages public health, public safety, and prevention partnerships.
