W/B HIDTA-Supported Northern Virginia Gang Initiative’s Collaboration Results in MS-13 Gang Members and Associates Sentenced for Racketeering, Narcotics Conspiracies, and Four Murders
According to a June 2024 press release from the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, the last defendant of the six Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members convicted in two separate federal trials was sentenced for racketeering conspiracy, narcotics conspiracy, and offenses related to the murder of four men.
Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Nicole Argentieri, head of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, stated, “These defendants–members of the violent MS-13 gang–sold drugs to fuel the gang’s business, surveilled and tracked rival gang members, and even murdered innocent victims…..”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Prince William County (VA) Police Department led the case, with significant assistance from the Loudoun County (VA) Sheriff’s Office, Prince William County Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force, Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,, Firearms, and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshal Services.
