W/B HIDTA Monthly Analyst Roundtable Draws International and Domestic Law Enforcement Analysts and Investigators to Washington, DC in October

On October 23, 2024, the Metropolitan Washington D.C. Police Department welcomed the W/B HIDTA’s monthly Analyst Roundtable to its Academy. Analysts and investigators from international and domestic law enforcement agencies gathered to discuss the most prevalent trends in trafficking of illicit substances and other related criminal activities.

Participants addressed strategies for combatting crimes through illicit online networks, and the far-reaching web of transnational commercial transport. Discussion focused on Transnational Criminal Organizations and Drug Trafficking Organizations, the identification of similar tracking patterns for precursor chemicals, and various supply and demand issues that impact drug trafficking routes.

The group included representatives from the Australian Federal Police, Canada Border Services, French Customs, French Federal Police,  the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Marshals Service, the National Security Administration Police, the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Police Department,  and the Howard County (MD) State’s Attorney’s Office.
