Hennepin County Gets New Tool in Fight Against Opioids
As Minnesota deals with a growing opioid crisis, a new plan to help was announced Thursday.
Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek wants to know specifically where overdose deaths are happening so first responders can respond immediately.
The new tool is called ODMAP. It links first responders on scene to a mapping tool. Then multiple agencies can track suspected overdoses more accurately, detect spikes in geographical areas and create strategic response plans.
